AEROSHARE                                                           VL-3 in detail

Description:

AveoFlash:

At the time of confirming last execution details while ordering our Aveko VL-3 at the distributor, we decided to order a combination of nav lights/beacon and strobes to be installed on the wingtips and vertical tail.

The OO-G05 is not equipped with an integral airframe parachute system, one reason more to make sure we are visible.

Classic (Wheelen) strobes are more heavy, important for a microlight where every 100 grams count. There are many manufacturers of LED strobes, but the candela output is so dissapointing that their main function gets limited to demonstrations on exihibions and other aviation events. Ofcourse inside a hangar as they become bearly visible in direct sunlight.

After browsing the internet, we ended up with the Czech based AVEO ENGINEERING. To go for these products is a real no-brainer. Nowadays this company is recognized by the entire aviation world as having by far the best LED technology. It's proven and we would buy them again. Unfortunately they come with a life-time warranty so you don't get a second chance for buying them over again.

We are very satisfied with these strobes and they really meet our expectations. We are only a bit dissappoint by their size as they are pretty bulky but the newer versions have a much lower profile (LP see picture hereunder).

The strobes are synchronized by an extra wire connecting all 3 lights. This allows the indivdual lights to use a common timebase resulting in a perfect synchronization without an external powerbox. (= weightsaving and more energy efficient)

We have a switch for the colored nav lights together with the rudder beacon function (red) and a seperate switch to turn on the strobes (wings + rudder)

New for 2009:

At AVEO Engineering innovation never stops. They have meanwhile signicicantly reduced the height of the AveoFlash strobes from 4,8cm to 2,5cm.

The names got changed and you can identify them by 'LP' (low profile)

Furthermore you see hereunder a compact position strobe to be installed on the vertical rudder or mast of a weight shifting microlight (Delta). Very compact design with impressive visibility.

AVEO ENGINEERING:

This company is higly innovative, just think about the life-time warranty on their strobes. Have a look at thier site where you can find out that these people are working on glass cockpit solutions and much more!

Very lightweight and extremely powerfull with minimal current draw?

Aveo Engineering shows it can be done. These strobes are also available with TSO certification surpassing all requirements for General Aviation. The technology is based on optimized optics combined with specific POWER-LED's.

With a mass of only145g and the total absence of an extranal high output driver, these LED's are a league on their own. They are 10cm long, 4,5cm wide and 4,8cm heigh.

The position / strobe as installed on the left wing.

The electronic circuits are very well visible behind the very solid transparant cover. The wave length of the diodes determines the color of the LED light.

A detail of the rudder with the beacon/strobe light installed ex-works. We hav to admitt, the unit is bulky but we are sure to be noticed, both on the ground as in the air. The red beacon can be viewed/checked from ockpit, even in flight. (210g lxbxh: 10 x 5 x 5,5cm)

Alternatively you have a version with just white strobe light, replaced by the newly introduced PosiStrobe version. (see photo left)
